We lived in Southern California for 15 years and have been visiting Central and Southern California Wine Regions for over 20 years.  We have watched both famous and little-known wineries in these regions undergo incredible growth and popularity during the last decade.

When we searched for the “perfect” winery guide that would provide not only information about the wineries, but would also give recommendations on the specific wines to try at each tasting room --- we could not find any.  Most guidebooks simply listed the wineries and the types of wines produced.  So, we talked with our wine-loving friends for their suggestions on travel guides.  They said they had the same problem and then suggested we write our own guidebook.  The rest--- as they say--- is history!

We enjoy different aspects of the wine tasting experience.  We both love traveling and discovering great new wines and wineries. Bob loves meeting the winemakers and learning about the winemaking process. Cindy loves historical information, wine trivia, and checking out the tasting room gift shopping and food items.  So, we decided to write a guidebook that would give specific, descriptive information about the wine, the atmosphere, the facilities, and services the various wineries and tasting rooms offer.  

Since our free time (like yours) is limited, we do not want to “guess” about which tasting room has great Viognier or Sangiovese, which wineries have a unique or themed atmosphere, or which tasting rooms are “Party Central” or have picnic areas and food or entertainment.  Like you, we simply want to enjoy a wine tasting excursion that is based on our personal likes and needs during our short get-away with as little guesswork and driving as possible.

We have created an easy-to-use guidebook with the kinds of information that wewould find helpful.  Our goal is to help readers easily find exactly what they are looking in Paso Robles and Temecula Wine Country.  To arrive at our recommendations, we personally visited over 120 wineries and tasted/compared over 750 wines from the Paso Robles and Temecula Wine Regions (90 wineries and 500 wines in Paso; 40+ wineries and over 250 wines in Temecula).

Not only do our guidebooks give you recommendations about which wineries are worth your time to visit, they also SAVE YOU MONEY.  We list which of our recommended wineries have agreed to give you FREE TASTINGS OR SPECIAL DISCOUNTS if you show our guidebook during your visit.   Our goal is to produce books that are useful, money-saving, entertaining, and informative.  We think we have succeeded. We hope you do, too! 

Our Paso Robles winery and tasting room guidebook was published in late 2006.  Our new Temecula winery and tasting room guidebook will be published in late June or early July 2008.
